"When I came over and saw the review below me, I had to jump in the game. Clearly there are people who are into the Hammond Organ/Tenor sound, and clearly there are those who aren't. To hear Wild Bill cooking with Frank Morgan's bopistic alto within the context of a 1950's latin rhythm section does it for me. In fact, elsewhere this CD was chosen "Best of Genre" - - Its true that maybe Milt Buckner could have felt more comfortable in this type of groove, but Wild Bill Davis still cooks.... and this album overall is anything but mellow... if you're a fan of Wild Bill (or Milt), or Arnett, Illinois Jacquet and that type of groove, I'd say, this album is truly a rare find ! Give Frank another chance--he is much better than this

"Frank Morgan is an extraordinary ballad player, and he can cook with the best of the best. I don't care to hear Frank using organ and congas in his rhythm section as is the case here. He is much mellower with just piano accompaniment. A glimmer of the true Frank Morgan can be heard on this album in "My Old Flame". Has anyone ever played a more melancholy alto sax? If you must buy this album, go ahead, no one ever came up short listening to Frank Morgan. If you are not turned on by this album, give his "Yardbird Suite" or "You Must Believe In Spring" albums an ear. Frank Morgan is truly a national musical treasure."

"...I should alo add to my review that there are also piano/straight bop ensemble tracks on this album too (not to give the impression to anyone without real audio that this is an all organ combo album.)"
