CD ReviewsOld 78's Walter Blocher | Crompond, NY USA | 08/10/2008 (4 out of 5 stars) "My age lets me remember Frankie Laine on the radio. Most of his 78's I had as a kid are still with me. I have transferred them to a CD just to save the performaces. What I find lacking in the recent CD is the immediacy of the originals. CD's do tend to block out the natural ambience of recordings. This CD has blocked out to much to make the sound to pure. However, that said, this recording is worth having as it does contain the original tracks. He was a heck of a singer and performer. His diction and pitch were always as important as the words that he sold like no one else. If anyone is interested listen to his duets with Doris Day and Jo Stafford. What fun."
