"These are some very ealry recordings of the great Frankie Laine, back when he was with his good friend and collaborator Carl Fischer. The warmth and the inherit jazz style is in raw form. Some of these recordings are quite short and many of songs are very old which made them mostly unfamiliar to me, as both songs and also in style. But the fantastic and heart-felt voice of Mr. Laine carries it all through with plenty of feeling and goodness.
Many of these songs were also written or co-written by Frankie Laine which also pays tribute to his talents as a songwriter.
As you explore the later fifty years of Frankie Laine's output, you will see that even as he branched off into Western and a more Popular style, that underneath he is always somewhat infused with this jazz feeling.
He was also a really nice guy who was always nice enough to autograph whatever records I would order from his private office.
