"Although I don't think much of Frankie Laine, these early recordings from the 40's show that he was once a pretty hip guy(before becoming a square cowboy singer in the 50's) who actually knew how to swing. Here he uplifts such jazz standards with a small jazz oriented combo as "Black & Blue" and "We'll Be Together Again." In fact the entire CD is highly enjoyable. I found this CD in Garden Grove, CA in the 99 Cents Only store, for 99 cents. It's worth every penny..."
