"This album is one of my perennial favorites and one of the best salsa purchases I've ever made. EVERY song on this album is really good! Most, if not all of the songs, can also be found on other compilations -- just an indication of how many people enjoy them and how broadly they are appreciated. I've also been to lots of NYC Mambo events -- both in the clubs and at the socials, and these songs often pop up, even though they were released years ago. This album will never get old; you'll love listening to it every time!"

"Frankie Ruiz was perhaps one of the best salsero's ever. Due to his untimely death he did not receive the recognition and success he so richly deserved. Frankie was a pioneer in Salsa, he song words of passion and love to a rich,strong and infectious salsa beat. Even now, years after his death, his song "Puerto Rico" is one of the most beloved songs of all our people."
