CD ReviewsAwesome work!!! Andrés López Umaña | Santiago, Chile | 01/21/2010 (5 out of 5 stars) "The amazing work of british guitarist Fred Frith is once again in its best shape. Through this present record, Accidental, we are in front of a sort of V-effect type music. Following the brief liner notes, is easy to see that what he's trying to do is approaching in a sort of cubistic way to the guitar work, that is, an image can be overviewed from different angles, inside, ouside, etc. Exposing questions, giving clues or different and unexpected inputs to the act of making music. We hear on only his guitar, also violins, radio plundering, and whimsical voice efects, reflecting not only top perform, what is to listen a cultural product, an object d' art.
This might be on of the best records of the last decade. From my personal point of view, my favorite track is "Almighty home at last", one of the most thrilling solos I ever listened in my life. You find your pulse racing, incredible. Mr. Frith has performed recently in my country, giving us an extraordinary concert, his unique musical language is a must for a real lover not only of the guitar music, but the art itself." |
