"Gravity is the epitomy of Fred's 80's "pop" style albums- a "must have" for anyone who has ever existed. It's also the best album in the known universe. As you can see from the cover, this is a dance album, but not for the faint of heart. Mr. Frith's version of the classic "Dancing in the streets" is enough of a Blast AT The Past to get Fred banned from the R&B hall of fame forever- yet it grooves as hard as a washing machine overloaded with boots. Whimsical, hardcore, swingin', locked-down, grinding, and whimsical again, Gravity is a true pleasure to listen to, a musical odyssey. If you know and love "Speechless", this is the lighter side. If you want to test your ability to swing while humming polyrhythmic syncopations, get your dancing shoes on and kiss your feet goodbye!"

Unusual but Excellent

"This album, recorded in '79/'80 does not sound in any way aged. The album ranges from light, fake ethnic pieces, to a song with a hard edge. Most of the songs are upbeat and quite enjoyable. This album is "somewhat" outside, but it is very musical. If you're not addicted to pabulum this is a worthwhile cd. There are no vocals to speak of. The instrumentation is by-in-large as follows:(F.F.)bass, guitar, violin, keyboards; drums, guitar, mandolin, piano, accordian, alto sax, clarinet, etc., by others. Give your ears something of substance, buy this album."
