CD Reviews

Stands the test of time

"I bought my first Fred Small album (yes, album, not CD) years ago at the Oscar Wilde Bookstore in New York. Heart of the Apaloosa. It gew on me until I had to have more. I have since bought Fred's entire catalogue. All are wonderful, but No Limit is still my favorite. It is, in some ways, more spiritual and draws on many of the deepest emotions that we all share. The highlights to me are Leslie and Scrambled Eggs and Prayers, the latter because it takes place close to home and I remember the actual incident well. All Fred Small's work is great, but to me this is his best. He deserves more fame than he has received, but then again, fame might destroy that which is so special."

"This CD is AMAZING! As always, Fred's lyrics and music evoke thought and change in his listener. His songs, "Leslie is different" and "Cranes over HIroshima" are powerful stories that moved me to examine the way I view the world. I love Fred's work!"
