CD ReviewsI thought it was pretty good Neal A. Mehta | san mateo ca | 09/09/2006 (4 out of 5 stars) "i really like some of the arragments on this album. they were all done by wayne shorter and the band backing up freddie contains some notable players, such as clark terry. however, i thought that some of the arragments, especially aeritis, were not as balanced, at least for my tastes. the trumpet section is a bit loud and the shout chorus toward the end of hub's solo is not the nicest thing a section like the one employed on this album could play. however, freddie is as always brilliant. i bought this cd because i love that tune body and soul. on that note, i wasnt dissappointed. wayne shorter arranges the standard beautifully. the flute sounds real pretty on the intro and freddie, that tone knocks me out. i thought this was a fine effort, but not a classic. in my opinion there are better freddie hubbard/wayne shorter collaborations. i would not reccomend this as a first exposure to freddie hubbard. that withstanding, this is still an enjoyable listen which is worth picking up."
