Freddy's voice is as warm as honey

"Hate to compare him (as he oftentimes is) to his brother Nat, but he sounds just like what Nat would be if he did live long enough to reach Freddy's age and stuck to a trio format. His vocal range may be limited, but he uses it to the max. No one can sing a song as warm as Freddy. Listen to the title track and see if you don't find yourself feeling wistful and melancholic over something you might not even be able to relate to. He is that damn good."
Can't wait to hear ALL the melodies!

"Although I haven't had the pleasure of listening to the entire CD, I've heard several cuts from it (Merry-Go-Round, Forgive My Heart, etc.) on various radio programs and they are absolutely wonderful! Sad and oh so sweet. If you're yearning for the slow soulful jazz of days gone by, pick up this CD!"

"When you hear Freddie sing, you really feel what he is singing about. The most expressive vocalist alive. The musicianship is top notch, with Freddie's fine tasty (Juliard Grad) playing. Herm Burney's a newcomer on the recording scene on upright bass! We need to hear more of him."
