Without a doubt the best of the band

"although i have the original version (without the ep material) i have heard the ep material and it is certainly a bonus to an already great album. i have trouble listening to the 'fiction we live' in its entirety, and have no intention of buying 'abandon your friends' from the few songs i've heard from it. without this album, i don't think from autumn to ashes would have become as big as they have. while it's the same drummer and vocalist, the guitar line up has changed significantly, and the newer line ups don't compare. this album alone, however, makes this band memorable. although it was recorded on a much lower budget compared to fata's other albums, i enjoy the production much more on this one - there's never a feeling of a cheap recording on this album, yet there's certainly never a moment of over-production. the fiction we live sounded too processed, and the following album i will not comment on. the songs are very dynamic, shifting from breakdowns to very slowed paced, mellow acoustic passages, incorpating a lot of melody throughout the calm and the heavy. i have listened to this album countless times, and while it may not be the best of its style it is a great listen."
