"Contrary to logical interpretation, Explosion is not a remix disc of Implode. It combines tracks derived from four singles that have supposedly been deleted: Circuitry, Plasticity, Comatose and Colombian Necktie. Here is the tracklisting for anyone who has not heard about it: 1. Circuitry (Predator mix) 2. Epidemic- B-side from Circuitry single 3. Plasticity- Single released after Hard Wired 4. Circuitry (Alien Mix) 5. Hydrogen- A track only included on a special version of the Circuitry single 6. Colombian Necktie (Tongue Fed Edit) 7. Deadlock- B-side from Colombian Necktie single 8. Replicant- B-side from Plasticity single 9. Comatose (Valium, 15mg) 10. Oblivion- B-side from Comatose single 11. Comatose (Ketamin, 45mg) 12. Colombian Necktie (GOarge mix by Tim Shuldt). If you own all four of the singles that this album is comprised of, only the Alien mix of Circuitry and Hydrogen will be of interest to you. However, if you do not have these singles and enjoy FLA's work, then I strongly recommend this album. The B-sides are a great addition along with the remixes, and of course the one and only Plasticity track is included, my favorite FLA track of all time. In conclusion, I will say that if you can appreciate FLA's style and don't own the singles, BUY IT NOW!"

Excellent collection of transition period FLA

"There was a stretch in 1999 when SPV/Offbeat couldn't release a bad cd, and this one is no different. Titled "Explosion" in probable reference to Front Line's then newly released _Implode_, it's a reasonably complete collection of four cd singles, two from the final period of Rhys Fulber's days with Leeb (Circuitry and Plasticity) and two from the beginning period of Chris Peterson's stay in the band (Comatose and Columbian Necktie.) As such they provide, in one collection, a fascinating bridge between the two different sounds and two different eras.I say reasonably complete because it doesn't include Haujobb's mix of "Circuitry" or their own "Biosphere" mix of "Circuitry." But it does start off with the strongest mix of that song, the "Predator" mix. It also doesn't have Haujobb's mix of "Plasticity," or Eatstatic's mix of "Comatose." However, you do get everything else FLA did on those four discs, and two songs they didn't: the amazing "Hydrogen," almost worth the price of admission alone, and the "Alien" mix of Circuity, both from the limited edition of _Hard Wired_.Both A and B sides from _Plasticity_ are here, the swan song for FLA's mark II lineup. Both of those tracks, "Plasticity" and "Replicant," are essential listening for FLA fans. "Epidemic" is another very strong track from the _Circuitry_ single, and "Deadlock" is a track from _Columbian Necktie_ with samples from the movie _Independence Day_. It's as perfect a blend of techno and industrial as you can find and a heavier emblem of the electronica influences found on _Flavour of the Weak_ and to a lesser extent, _Implode_. Finally, "Oblivion," the b-side from _Comatose_, completes the cycle, with sections that sound like samples from Orbital's _The Box EP_.Only "Electrocution," a missing song that follows "Deadlock" on the _Necktie_ single, cries out for inclusion here. But this is already a strong compilation and should be in any collection that doesn't already own these four singles. There are those who feel techno influences cannot be mixed with industrial ones with success. Are they correct? Listen to this and decide for yourself."

FLA Remixes & Rarities on 1 CD

"This 12 track collection of the rare, the B-Sides and the remixes include some great previously unheard of FLA sounds and melodies. I have fast became a FLA fan. I have personally felt any piece of work or artistry by Leeb and Fulber or Peterson and Leeb is 99% a smashing hit. Whatever your tastes, whether you enjoy early FLA or the more recent releases, in this CD every listener will find a song or songs that they shall enjoy. There are 4 remixes which are some of the best remixes I have heard enterprising and collectively suave to listen and move your body too. The 'Colombian Necktie' Edit (track 6) is probably the best ever Remix of this song I have heard so far. The early and later sounds of FLA mix well together and one can pretty much hear the changes in styles and delivery.

This is for the hardcore FLA fans. And for all those FLA fans who are picking up every album one by one."
