Full Moon CD review from Chaos Realm web zine

(5 out of 5 stars)

"FULL MOON - "State Of The Artist" CD '00 (Monster, US) - Here is a very simple one. The majority of this cd is the 1980 self-titled album by PA's FULL MOON. In short, for those who worship UFO, Winterhawk and any hard rock, it is without question, one of the absolute greatest (and most obscure!) releases ever. Some of the most memorable, melodic, yet heavy and guitar-drenched epics ever known to man dwell here. In fact, "Winter City" a 9-minute opus, is easily among the most awesome hard rock songs ever recorded. Add to that 5 bonus cuts, of very close proportion, and you've got a completely essential purchase!"
Nice guitar oriented album. May be acquired taste vocally.

"Considering this was a self produced album by a band who came out of the midwest, this is quite good. There is some nice guitar work on this album. If you remotely like Thin Lizzy type dual guitars, this release has plenty of it. However, the acquired taste here may be the vocals. This band was comprised of two guitarist brothers, one of which handles the vocals. If you download the song samples given here, you may be turned off initially. The disc does sound better than the samples, but it seems singing is not really the guy's forte. Musically, this album is pretty strong for a homegrown band. If you find the singing acceptable, then I would recommend picking this up. There are better albums out there, but the relatively obscureness of this act makes a nice addition to a classic rock collector's archive."
