"First I will start by saying that this is not FUNERAL ORATION the punk band, this is FUNERAL ORATION the black/death metal band. As far as I know this is their only release, which is a shame because it's brilliant. I can't really think of any other band to compare them to, that's not to say that they are completely different to other bands the black/death genre, but they do have a sound of their own. It's not as raw as DARK THRONE or as slick as DIMMU BORGIR, so I guess it sits somewhere in the middle, with subtle use of spooky keyboards and truly vicious vocals. The production isn't great, but I think it suits the music, the drums do sound a bit weak at times, it seems to vary a bit song to song. After the first two tracks there is a piano interlude between each song that sound as if they were lifted from some old horror film, although these only last about a minute they greatly enhance the overall feel of the album. The artworks excellent too. I've owned it for about 3 years and I still play it often. Fans of slightly rawer black metal should check this out ASAP."
