A good account but...

"Inbal's Mahler cycle with the Frankfurt Orchestra is very good indeed. The Orchestra is excellent and Inbal has a good feeling for the music. There are some many great accounts of the Ninth available today and this recording can not be a top recommendation. Unlike the Seventh or the Third I felt that the music was a bit sterile, the feeling was missing. The Adagio from the Tenth was excellent and that make the *** upgraded to ****. When it comes to the 9th I would go with Bernstein's account with the BPO, Karajan with the same orchestra or James Judd's account for Nuova Era."
