"Music enthusiasts interested in Italian singers and conductors of the past will find this and other CDs from the same label well worth investigating and well worth the modest price. I know several collectors who would buy this CD quickly purely for the chance of hearing Toscanini's brilliant New York performances of three Rossini overtures. The other tracks are all vocal, providing some rarities and some well-known items. Gigli is heard in fine form in "Cujus animam", singing gloriously but not attempting the high Db at the end."
