The Maui-based singer/songwriter, Swanson has included a number of impressive special guests on Simple Truth, including Willie Nelson and Michael McDonald. The two duets with Nelson (The One that Got Away and Half a Heart) and another with McDonald (End of the World) are particular highlights, but you'll also enjoy the fun of Beautiful Again (Do Do Song) and the intrigue of Un Richiamo a Madre Terra. "Gail's voice, lyrics, musical abilities, and poetry shine through in this collection. Her "The One That Got Away" with Willie is powerfully emotional and thoughtfilled. She writes incredible music and lyrics that touch the heart and soul. For those of you lucky enough to be able to hear her in person, you know that her sound is not studio produced. Her magic is personal and her stage presence is warm and loving. Happily, that same persona is reflected in her CDs. This is one indie you can't miss. It is a gem."

"I love this c.d.! The songs are so well written and performed. Gail did a great job with this one. Her songwriting is well thought out and clever. The production is superb and hearing Mike McDonald and Willie Nelson sing with Gail is really cool. Love the John Cruz song too. Great players on this one! James "Hutch' Hutchinson and Pat Simmons, who also produced some of the songs, were awesome. Go Gail!"
