Album Description

Dave Pegg, bassist with Fairport Convention & Jethro Tull, and PJ Wright of Little Johnny England & The Dylan Project, have notched up a good few years of creativity between them. As well as playing with many other bands over the years, Pegg running festivals and recording companies and Wright with a solo career, they have recently taken to touring as a duo and this album is a result of their collaboration. "Galileo's' Apology" is a blend of PJ's writing, Pegg's instrumentals and cover versions of songs that have impacted the two of them during their careers.

"Prior to listening to these recordings, the only comparable material I knew had a narrative dimension. Because this material doesn't have that, I initially found it to be less engaging. Over time I have come to appreciate it more and more. The British accent is crisp, and the music is calming. The highly repetitive recordings--they quote a few phrases from Paul's epistles over and over--function very well as background in my IPOD. I also find that when I focus more directly on them, the verses regularly elicit a gratitude for God's grace in Christ Jesus."
