WHAT A FREAK SHOW!

"Gary Glitter is arguably the creepiest guy in rock and roll. Actually, forget about arguably... he is. If there were ever a celebrity that I would be legitimately scared to meet in a dark alley, it would be this guy. Gary Glitter.

The only hit he ever scored in the States was the one you will likely know called Rock and roll (part 2) from watching hockey on TV. It's the one that goes "Hey!" over and over again.

In Euro-countries though, The Glit went through a pretty good period of popularity amongst young girls... and it's no wonder they loved him. With that dreamy space gladiator suit he's wearing, and the penciled on eye brows.

Most of the Gary Glitter songs I knew of before this disc, were from hot female rockers of the day. Like Joan Jett, who's version of Do You Wanna Touch Me, is both sassy and sexy. Gary Glitters version is quite sassy, but really, makes me a little bit uncomfortable.

One has to wonder how he got away with releasing songs for pre-teens with names like, Doin Alright with the Boys, or Rock Hard Men, without raising any suspicion all tose years. I mean, David Bowie could probably sing those songs all day, and I wouldn't bat an eyelash, but something about this guys delivery that just makes them all so very weird. The Glit was arrested in the nineties for a large collection of Child Porn :(

Anyway though, I digress... if you are into music that could possibly give your children nightmares, I have to recommend this Ultimate collection of Gary Glitter. Sweet Dreams."
Outstanding collection

"What a great collection of Gary Glitter's tracks.

However, let's get the bad stuff out of the way first...I was really pissed to learn of his child porn behavior....throw him in jail and bury the key, I say. His music is banned in our home....my wife, a very avid ex-fan, won't tolerate his music!

I attended, wife in tow, a number of his concerts and they were outstanding! I attended the concert where "Gary Glitter's Gangshow - The Gang, The Band, The Leader" was recorded. One of the best, if not the best, live performance and shows ever. His songs were somewhat unique and looking over the titles with hindsight ie 'Do You Want To Touch Me', 'Angel Face' and 'Rock Hard Men', they look mighty suspicious.

Gary sure looked creepy but I liked his sound.

This is a good collection and a must have if you like his stuff. However, I would also track down the live album identified above...it captured the manic exuberence of this whacked-out nut.

Highly recommended!"
