Gauche is one of Sydney's most inspiring groups. Their quest for new sounds is matched by their mastery in their respective crafts - the band comprises musicians from such renowned acts as Hermitude, MONSIEUR CAMEMBERT, TOOTH, CIRCUS BIZARRE, CIRCUS MONOXIDE, DARTH VEGAS, MR BAMBOO and classical vocal ensemble CANTILLATION. For their second release of 2005, Gauche have joined forces with some of Sydney's finest artists to bring you 'Repainted' - The Remix Album '. Featuring the likes of DEEPCHILD, SOUP, INGA LILJESTROM, DSICO, 4:20, REPHRASE, RAVEN, ALPEN, COMATONE, BOB SCOTT (WICKED BEAT SOUND SYSTEM), XAVIER FIJAC (DECODER RING), JACOB COOK (VASSY AND THE PEDESTRIANS), and DANNYKRASS, this album is a fantastic showcase of Sydney electronic music. Gauche delight in contorting traditional song structure and drawing on innumerable musical reference points, though always with an underlying electronic, or electro-acoustic sound. The musicians' roles are not always typical; rather their interaction could be described as a fragile sculpture of fragments that interlock like jigsaw pieces. For 'Repainted', Gauche and their friends have jumbled the jigsaw once again with new interpretations in a variety of styles.
