CD Reviews

R.I.P. the original rock and roller Gene Vincent!!!
paul draven | Chico,California u.s.a. | 10/16/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Every cut a classic. Every note beautiful. Everything Gene Vincent put out rocks and rolls with a fiery passion that has been unmatched since. Even when the man switched to country tinged rock in the 70's the songs were gut-wrenchingly filled with pain and passion. Elvis was King but Gene Vincent was a God!"
Great Collection of Mid-Sixties Rock n'roll & Ballads

(4 out of 5 stars)

"A time back, a friend of mine sent me this collection. Ain't that too much is awesome - what a great singer Gene was. Bird Doggin and I've got my eyes on you are great examples of wild and crazy 1960's - almost with a tinge of psychedelia. They make you want to get up and dance. Hi Lilli Hi Lo shows that Gene could sing soft ballads flawlessly. This man was a great talent - it's a shame he's gone. These may be his best recordings and I highly recommend them."
I can't believe they're all here

"I stumbled upon gene vincent by accident when I bought a rock and roll compilation and fell in love with his music when I heard him panting on Ain't that too much. This CD contains a great line-up of my favourite gene vincent songs. I'm buying this just to hear the alternate takes. Poor man's prison is just great. If you haven't heard him before this is a good place to start."
