"If the band ever gets the rights back to their first 4 albums and does a brand new mix from the original tapes, I'm right there.

Until then, this remaster is the best one out there.

It managed to restore a couple seconds of some little piano riff that was cut out of Columbia's CD pressing, so that was a neat treat.

The mix is clear and loud, without being over compressed, the EQing is very well done, The bass end is rich and the high end is clear, but still has that fat vintage sound to the whole disc.

I did an A/B comparison to the Columbia CD in Sony Vegas and found that the Repertopire disc is also a little faster. Not by much, you'd never notice it and the pitch is the same. But when I lined up the same song from each disc, by the end of each song they'd be slightly off. I think this gives the music a little bit more energy, although really you'd never notice a difference."
