""It's now been exactly one year since this cd was supposed to be released and it still isn't available! What's even worse is there is no advance notice or update as to when it will be released. This is an outrage! I wish that DRT would get on the ball and finally release it. Do all of we GG fans a favor; please!""

"Pushed back yet again to summer 2006. It is now May and still no word on when this release will actually exist and hit the market. Why oh why please God help me!
Edited Sept 12, 2007. Still not released. I suppose it never will be, and what a shame."
Not released yet.

"Unlike what Amazon says, this anthology has not yet been released. It was originally due out on October 4, 2005, but it has been postponed repeatedly, and is now scheduled for a February 21, 2006 release! To see for yourself, check out the release date on the CD Universe website!"
What's up, DRT?

"This is NEVER coming out, I'm convinced. Since I saw this would be released--or supposedly already was-- I waited patiently for 9 months, through delays, for it to become available. This must have been in 2005. Then I tried buying a used copy, which of course never arrived. Then I placed an order directly to the Canadian Amazon since they were selling it, and after 3 mos. of delays and customer disservice-- nothing.
Finally, ~18 months after looking forward to this... I just bought ALL the GG albums, and eventually resold most, about a year ago. This was actually a rewarding move, and I think I liked the band better than if I'd just bought this nonexistent compilation. Some of the 'popular' songs fall in the slower "minstrel" style (of which I'm not a fan); but with the full albums I heard more songs of a blues/rock/'mainstream prog' bend. Some are overlooked in this disc's tracklist.
For those looking for a briefer alternative to the full catalogue:
In my opinion, their style seemed to come together in "In a Glass House", which demonstrates the complexity, energy, creativity, and album coherence while still showcasing their signature sound. There is, of course, a debate over the 'best' album, _usually_ between Octopus, Glass..., and Free Hand. The first is just a little "minstrel-y" for me, and the latter just a little bent towards pop, but choose for your preference.
If the individual albums are still not good enough because you want a real overview, I highly suggest the "Playing the Fool" live album. It is often considered progressive rocks's best live album; many extended, less-interesting interludes of the album versions are cut; and-- amazingly-- all the complex overlayed melodies/rhythms are replicated with high fidelity to the studio originals."
