CD ReviewsGood track selection... terrible sound quality. Camorra 26 | New York City | 02/02/2003 (2 out of 5 stars) "I've been a fan George Acosta for a long time now, having bought every one of his albums. I do like the track selection and the way he mixes it but I have to say, the sound quality on this album is very poor. There are several times throughout the CD where there is static, hissing, crackling and just plain distortion. I know live DJ sets are straight from vinyl so record static is to be expected, but this goes way beyond that. There was obviously a major breakdown somewhere during the post production of this album. I have a lot ot these types of albums in my music collection and I have never heard one this bad. At times you have to skip to the next track the distortion is so bad. Big ups to George for his mixing of these tracks, but thumbs WAY DOWN for the production of this album. Someone should have caught this major problem before it was mass produced and released to his fans worldwide." Jesus! Camorra 26 | 08/06/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "Im an Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto, PVD fan and really never thought of buying a CD from George Acosta, but I read somewhere on the internet that it was a pretty good CD. So I held my breath and paid for it. After unwrapping it in my car and started it, I heard Armins mix "Yet Another Day", I thought ok, thank you George for that. Than......after that song, the rest is pure ecstacy, awesome job George, my hat goes off to you and as my respect. Great choice of music and mix, beautifully done. I'm glad I invested my money on this. Thank You George Acosta, and Im happy to say, we're both from Miami where we're starting to appreciate Trance music, FINALLY!" Absolutely flawless Erica Anderson | Minneapolis, MN | 02/16/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "I recently got into George Acosta's work with his previous album "Next Level". I was completely blown away with what I heard. He reminded me of Paul Oakenfold before he started adding in breakbeats on his last few albums. So when I found out back in January that he had a new album coming out ("Touched"), I knew I just had to get the album. I got lucky today at my favorite record store and found a used copy of "Touched". Now that I have listened to both the Epic side (disc 1) and the Dark side (disc 2), I am truly a George Acosta fan. What I have heard on "Touched" is a testament to what trance music ought to sound like; melodic and catchy yet doesn't pander to pop music (i.e Paul Oakenfold and BT). I honestly cannot pick between the two discs on "Touched". Both cds are just fabulous. While the Epic disc gets the listener all pumped up, the Dark side takes the listener to the next level with its faster and harder beats. While there are elements of breakbeats in the music on the Dark side, they never take over the music unlike with Oakey's latest efford "Bunkka". For Oakenfold fans, they have to hear "Raging" which features longtime Oakenfold/BT collaborator Jan Johnston. The song itself reminds me a lot like "Flesh" but in a good way. I also loved listening to Lina Rafn's vocals on "Silent Heart". I have to say that is [probably] my favorite vocalized track on the two cd mix set. Ray Wilson does a great job on "Yet Another Day" [Riva Remix] though. I don't hear too many male vocalists on trance cds but hearing his voice was a nice addition. After listening to "Touched", I have to say that George Acosta is now my favorite dj. Sorry Oakey but you got too big for my tastes. George Acosta is now the king of trance in my book."
