Great, but there are actually two versions of "Carlin on Cam

"This album was long out of print, and for a long time it was only available at Carlin's shows. I saw the cassette on his merchandise table back in the mid 90s, and passed on it thinking this was just the audio from the HBO special of the same name. Boy was I wrong! Fortunately I stumbled across a used CD copy a few years ago, which had everything on one enormous 40+ minute long track.
All of George Carlin's albums from 1986 onwards were more or less audio versions of his HBO specials: "Playin' With Your Head", "What Am I Doing In New Jersey", "Parental Advisory" (same as the HBO special "Doin' It Again"), and so on up through his last recording, "It's Bad For Ya". In some cases they were recorded on different nights than their HBO counterparts, but most listeners wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
However, this "Carlin on Campus" album is significantly different from his 1984 HBO special of the same name. The "Cars and Driving" and renewed classic "Baseball and Football" are here, but there's also a lot that wasn't on the video. Some routines such as the "Moment of Silence", and the death of his dog Tippy showed up on later HBO specials. But there are lots of great short bits on here too that haven't showed up anywhere else.
So if you think this is just a direct copy of the HBO special like his later albums, guess again!"
One of the bettter if not best of the earlier-mid Carlin rec

"I just took a ride and gave this new release a listen and thankfully its an old release to me...and one of his best. I'm really glad they pulled this tape out of the vault , dusted it off and put out the CD..as some of my favorite bits of his pre-political stuff are on here. Of course you have Baseball/football (which you can find elsewhere) but the long rant on driving was always a favorite of mine and I'm thrilled to have it again! It is an adult only experience but does predate his attacks of a political nature so those (not me) who are put off by that more recent approach need not worry...this is mostly his better observational stuff..and its really a hoot!"
