"Whether you see his performances on tape or DVD or if you listen to his material on CD, George Carlin is always on top of his game. He talks about whatever he wants without any fear, and he doesn't care who he offends. (In fact, if you ever told him that you were offended by his stuff, it'd only encourage him!) George Carlin's "Jammin' in New York" is a hilarious album that always keeps you on your toes.On this dark and angry album you'll hear George talk about the Gulf War, little things we have in common, golf courses, airline announcements, eating disorders, more war stuff, environmentalists, and many more. This is one of my favorite performances by him. He hits every note right and never leaves us with a dull or unfunny moment. Carlin dishes out the edgy and controversial material without hesitation. And it's also an album you can listen to over and over again. If you're easily offended by strong language, I'd recommend that you steer clear of this one. After all, this is Carlin we are talking about. While seeing him do his performances is always better than just listening to it, "Jammin' in New York" is definitely an album to check out if you are a Carlin fan. His years in comedy really pays off and you do get the feeling that he seems to improve with every performance. Carlin will always remain a favorite of mine."
Another great Carlin CD

"I'm a fairly new Carlin fan. I've read his book (Brain Droppings), and listened to 3 CDs (You are all Diseased, Jammin in Nw York, and Back in Town). "Jammin" is certainly as funny and if not funnier than the others. Airline Announcements is hilarious, and Things We Share is timeless. Jerry Seinfeld has immitated many Carlinisms from this album, and he cant even compare to the master of comedy. While George's albums are hilaroius, they do speak some truth. They make you laugh about things important to you. He gives you a sense of humor about yourself. I cant wait for the next album."
There may never be another George Carlin album like it.

"I was never really into to stand up comedy until I was introduced to George Carlin. I have heard a lot of his stuff, but Jammin' in New York is, by far, the greatest and most well thought out poece of his work yet to date. It is one of the funniest HBO performances that he has ever done."

"George Carlin. I can't believe I've gone this long without listening to his material. Then again, I'm only 18. "Jammin' In New York" is great, funny, hilarious. I especially love his take on flying ("`Put the mask over your face and breath deeply'. Sure, I have no problem with that. I always breathe normally when I'm in a six-hundred mile an hour uncontrolled vertical dive") and experiences that bring us together ("You ever been talking to yourself and someone comes into the room and you have to make believe you were singing?"). It's coarse and it's fun.
Also check out Complaints and Grievances, You Are All Diseased, and Parental Advisory."
Carlin at his best

"This is good for a laugh. George Carlin is extremely funny in most of his word, but "Jammin' in New York" I number among the best. This is good fun for everyone. (But it is explicit and would advise against parents letting their younger children listen to it)... But if you want the opinionated, harsh, comedy for yourself, I don't blame you... it's funny as hell. :)"
