Stirring romantic themes, especially those that skew toward the classical side of the continuum, are the central focus of this set of cover tunes from Cayman Island-based pianist George Davidson. Backed by light, almost unnoticeable accompaniment on viola by Lev Zhurbin, this mostly solo affair proves once again that Davidson is capable of producing music of amazing elegance when he gets behind the keys. His repertoire this time out features a number of tunes that would pair nicely with a glass of wine and a little moonlight, like a tender rendition of "The Lady in Red" or a unique flourish-filled take on Ennio Morricone's "Gabriel's Oboe." Also included is an original song by Davidson titled "Hold Me, Kiss Me," which caps off the album.
