"Despite the title this is not a live recording but a studio recording with very good sound quality. It was the last of 3 Phil Woods, Donald Byrd, George Wallington sessions. The other 2- NEW YORK SCENE and JAZZ FOR THE CARRAIGE TRADE were recorded for Prestige records. This one comes from Savoy in 1957. After a strong version of Bud Powell's Dance of the Infidels there is a trio track and a ballad and then things heat up again during the later portion of Dizzy Gillespie's OW!--Don & Phil can also be heard with Al Haig on piano on the session- THE YOUNGBLOODS from the same year or so on Prestige."
