"I couldn't believe it when I heard this morning that Gerald had died at only 40 years old. Unbelievable. He was such an amazing talent - a powerful and silky smooth baritone voice that was gorgeous to listen to.
This is one of my favourite cd's of his. It has one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard on it - I'd Give Anything. That is a fantastic song that I still love after all of these years. I also really love Same Place, Same Time and Have Mercy. It's one of his best cd's and certainly one of my favourites (apart from G.). His voice was so full of emotion and it stands out here really well. It's a stunning love cd and it is full of bedroom music. I really recommend this to all R&B fans and fans of his in general. To know that we won't hear any more new music is the biggest shame. At least we can hear this over and over to hear his voice whenever we want. Go get a copy of this - it's worth every penny."
Groove On is Definitely One of Gerald's Best Pieces

"This was Gerald's first solo CD and like with many first CDs, I believe it's his best of all of his CDs. I absolutely liked every cut except for the first cut which was the title cut "Groove On". I could do without that but hey, everything else makes up for it. This is real down home soul. This is the type of music babies are made on. I still say Luther was good but had nothing on Gerald. They are two different types artists. Luther sings nice and crisp, but when Gerald sings certain songs, you feel it down in your soul. I give this CD 5 Stars hands up. This CD is a collectors item and just full of good soul gritty Gerald Levert songs. You can not go wrong with this CD."
Another great R&B artist

"A good R&B music has great vocal, lyric and beat. Gerald Levert delivers them all in one great package called Groove On. It has a mix of love songs and upbeat tempo. Some albums tend to go one direction(e.g. love songs for the entire album). Gerald's mix and match approach is excellent. My favorites are (incidentally the first song and the last song of the album) Groove On and Love Street."
Absolutely Positively Outstanding

"This as definitely one of my most favorite cd's. This cd grooves nice and slow all the way through. This is a cd you can take to bed (especially if you're not going to bed). I have hard time deciding what is my favorite song. Somebody, I'd Give Anything, Love Street, Have Mercy hit home pretty hard. I know almost every song from start to finish on this cd. I lost and damaged 2 cd's. Then bought a third. I think I'll buy a forth and put it up, just in case. Gerald Levert is definitely Da' Man !!! I feel that his Older and Most recent released cd's are great also. But, for some reason, this one connected with me. It also connects with anyone I play it 4. See for yourself. It is something that takes you away. "How many times", is the ultimate "Good-Guy" song. The "Shoulder-to-Cry-on-Guy" song. I Love This CD... This is how I honestly feel...jc"
