"Thanks to Telarc for releasing this disc. The multi-channel layer is demonstration quality, and was totally involving. The performance will not replace my favorites, Beecham, Leinsdorf, and (in spite of myself)Karajan-- but it it is a light, refreshing performance that will appeal to people who are not opera lovers. It has that "Let's put on a show!" feeling. Recommended for someone's first opera recording, or just for fun."
