CD Reviews

EXTREMELY GIGANTIC !!!
Paulo Kotze | Curitiba, PR Brazil | 08/21/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Here I am again, as one of the world's most crazy fans of Gigantor. I am really in a good position for this review, since I know almost everything about the band. What we have here is an outstanding production of another excelent album. Since "Back to the Rockets" we knew it was hard to create such a perfect album, but yes, they did it again!!! Rhythm/ trouble is a mature album of a mature band. Andreas, the new guitar player, is a great aquisition. Creates and plays well, he has the G-style. Influences of Ramones and Turbonegro are clear. Quick, fast and melodic, nothing more than that. They come to perfection in "Belly up" with classic "pa-ra-pa-pas". The lyrics about love are constant, thanks God Jay Lansford exists. The ex-simpletones is a genious writer... I won't tell you anything about Gagu... Simply the same: perfect! Two songs in Japanese explain their popularity in the country, after some successful tours. The beggining of the song called "Gigantor song and dance revue" is epic. "Crossing swords", a hymn. "Voices", to sing all day...Congratulations, Gigantor. Keep on like that, mature, solid and wonderful. My mind thanks you. And so do my ears...Paulo Kotze - Brazil"
