CD ReviewsA wonderfull cd swows the "mature "Gigli at his best 09/05/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) "This is a wonderfull sample of the art of Gigli in popular songs.Several items are already well known, for example "Ti voglio tanto bene", "La Spagnola", "Lolita","Mamma"or "Se voui goder la vita", where we can appreciate the supreme interpretation of Gigli. But here are items like "Ninna nanna grigioverde", "Tenerezza", "Surdate", "'nna sera é Maggio" or "Son poche rose" where the great tenor is insurpassable. Listen specially "Ninna nanna grigioverde". Gigli begins with rich tone and generous phrasing; then, in the second verse, where the song refers to the mother that songs the "ninna nanna"to her child, Gigli developes his superb mezza voce and his phrasing is here extremely delicate(with an exquisite "misto" in the words "ti dira"). Finally, he returns to the full voice ending with a ringing top B flat. All the items show Gigli in perfect vocal condition and as a consumate artist."
