"If a one of Gladys Knight & the Pips should be on the greatest hits cd, you need to have "Heaven Sent". I remember my mom had this on cassette and I wore it out. Gladys tore this song up!!! It was on the same album with "Save the Overtime for Me". I am still looking for this on cd or just buy the original cd. If you just listen to the verse, you would be in tears."

"This is a very good greatest hits showcasing the pips and gladys' work of the 80s. I would have given the cd 5 stars, but Bougie, Bougie should have been included and that would have made it 5 stars for sure, but I still enjoy listening to this cd, especially when cooking and/or cleaning. It still gets you in the mood to move and sang along!"

"Knight & her Pips returned to radio and the charts in 1980, after a period of decline, finally freed of legal entaglements and newly signed to the Columbia Records label. These tracks reflect a slick approach of '80s r&b/dance music. There's very little of the anguished soul stylings that Knight helped popularize in the '60s and '70s. Her voice is smoky, only occasionally does she inject a gritty exclamation. Straightforward, optimistic lyrics by Ashford & Simpson and others, seem to reflect Knight's personality and concerns. "You're Number One" is a sexy, slow jam that remains a favorite of even casual listeners. "Hero is the song later made famous by Bette MIdler as "Wind Beneath My Wings". A nice bonus would have been "Bourgie Bourgie" and the glorious "Still Such A Thing" from the "About Love" LP."
