"The Art of the Fugue was written with no annotaions telling the performer what instrument it was written for. As a result, it has been arranged for everything from single instruments (harpsichord, piano) to full orchestra (Stokowski).
In this version, Glen Gould--best known as a dazzling pianist--tries his hand at a version for organ. It comes off quite well, and is actually one of my favorite versions.
Not at all the traditional version--so I wouldn't start here if you have never heard the Art of the Fugue--but a fascinating addition to a collection."
