NOT an original recording, but good still the same

"I get the distinct feeling that the musicians in this 1983 recording are not having quite as much fun as Glenn Miller and his boys, but it's technically very good. The quality of the recording really does bridge most of the gap between the original and the reproduction. If this were re-recorded today, the mics and mixing would be better still, but I imagine even with the resurgence of swing music in the 90's one would be hard-pressed to find another Glenn Miller band. Contrary to the previous review however, this is not an original, re-mastered recording of Glenn Miller. These are Boomers and Gen-X'ers playing this music during the era of ABBA and Blondie and Purple Rain and other synthpop. So in that context I'd say they did a brilliant job. And I'm not knocking ABBA, but they really are the anti-Glenn Miller."
