"Another great package from Buddha Records-I love the Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, and Tommy Dorsey/Frank Sinatra material that they have been releasing! Anyway, here is some of the earliest material from the band in existance, and prime stuff it is! Miller didn't begin to record for Victor until September 1938, but began radio remotes in June because of their engagement at the Paradise Restaurant in NYC. Here is the earliest surviving broadcast from the band (6/18/38), and three numbers apiece from the broadcasts of 6/20 and 6/27. Material up to June 1939 is also included, and the great majority of it was never commercially recorded. The 10-page booklet is filled with details and pictures that any Miller fan will just love, and the sound quality is stunning. Grab it by all means, as well as any other big-band/jazz release on this label!"
