"I held off buying this album for quite awhile. I mean, I wondered how Sheryl could top her self-titled album *and* do something unique. The 'studio' CD contains 'The Globe Sessions' with some extra tracks. It's a great album, musically and lyrically. There are a wide range of songs from the quite haunting 'Riverwide' -- my personal favorite -- to the Stonesey, hip-hop sounding 'There Goes the Neighborhood'. It's quite obvious Sheryl is experimenting with many different sounds. I think in retrospect this album will be seen as a turning point album as well. Many of the tracks make me feel like she's searching for a sound but hasn't quite found it. Then there are songs like 'Riverwide' and 'Crash and Burn' that burn right into your soul. The 'live' album is just great. It's done (I think) strictly with one or two acoustic guitars on each track, and she has fabulous backup vocals from Tim Smith on some of the tracks. If you're a Sheryl Crow fan you should own this album. (So then, how come only 4 stars? Well, I mean she's done just 3 albums so far. I gotta leave room to maneuver in the future:)"

"Sheryl Crow has always been a great song writer, and performer. The more personal content of her newest album, makes her even better. The live cd is absolutely wonderful. The live album is just a woman, a guitar, and a microphone. (with a back-up) She is out there completely raw and exposed during this performance and it is absolutely fabulous. Get the album for "The Globe Sessions" and then treat yourself to the awsome ability of a truly great live performer."
