CD ReviewsWhoaa!!!! Damien M. Gibbs | CHICO, CA, US | 12/28/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) "Been waiting to get this for a while.....some of the best music since I heard master of puppets in the eighties.....truly an under noticed modern gem........." Gojira - Terra incognita Marta | 02/12/2010 (5 out of 5 stars) "The first time I saw the French band Gojira was as the opening band for In Flames , and I found the amazing . I have listened to all their CDs from then , and I have also seen their DVD . "Terra incognita" is my last CD , but I think it was the first that they recorded . I highly recommend it . Their music is strong and agressive , with a great force in songs and also in lyrics , very compromised with the planet ." This is a good record. 4key | 09/10/2010 (5 out of 5 stars) "I can't believe it only has 6 reviews for as long as its been out. I'd never really heard anything like this before. Very creative, very heavy. It's the kind of metal you can almost zone out to. The hidden track at the end reminded me of when I used to listen to Pink Floyd on weed, except I don't smoke anymore. So that impressed me a little. The key to the music here, and I think someone else pointed it out as well, is the dynamics between the guitars and the drums. Every song here has a part that demands your full attention, just to figure out what exactly is going on musically. It's not that there is 'so much' going on, it's just that the music is unpredictable and untraditional. It's creative. I like Gojira. The first I'd ever even heard of them was when I saw them live in '07 and they completely blew me away. The music was so heavy and so disonant. Different than anything I'd heard before. This is a good record.
If you buy the mp3 album, when you burn the CD turn off your volume leveling because it kills the dynamic range of the music." |
