CD ReviewsBest Good Riddance Album skapunkbluesjazzrock | 12/17/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) "This is the best Good Riddance album I've ever heard. The music is fast a furious with great vocals and lyrics that are politically oriented." Buy this CD, place it in your CD player etc etc Tom M | England | 03/08/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) "Quite simply, Good Riddance play great, fast hardcore punk suffused with a strong idealism. Like Propagandhi, their politics are central in their lyrics, which complement the music perfectly. This album is short but sweet - the songs are all tight and melodic; Russ's voice is very listenable and was made for this kind of music. There isn't a bad song on this album, although there are a couple of less memorable ones - but what you will remember it for are the amazing songs such as the live staple `Mother Superior', `All Fall Down', `United Cigar', the prophetic `Decoy' and closing song `October' (which blends a soft, breathless build-up with an awesome climax). This album contains all of the ingredients of a great punk album - great hooks, angry (yet intelligent) lyrics, and the ability to excite. Like the not-dissimilar Bad Religion, Good Riddance's finest moments are fleeting changes of pace and soaring energy; they manage to sound powerful without being too heavy, wielding a punk-rock rapier rather than beating you with a metaphorical `metal' club. Having heard all of GR's albums, I would say this is the one which defines them, and by which later material will always be compared. If you have any of their other albums but don't own this one, remedy the situation immediately - Good Riddance are so consistent that once you've heard one album, you've got to collect `em all." Do they ever do it wrong? Tom M | 01/05/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) "An amazing cd, Unlike most people I believe this is their best album to date, unbelievable. They do it right everytime, buy all their cds you wont be disappointed, I wasn't"
