CD Reviews

Sweet Southern Rock and Roll
Lionel Edgar Godfrey | Cleveland, Ga 305228 United States | 09/09/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"There's a song by ATLANTA RHYTHM SECTION called "Large Time". In that song there's a line that says "We played Macon, Georgia with Lynyrd Skynyrd. It was a rock & roll hoe down." I went to that concert and the opening act was Goose Creek Symphony. I had heard their music but hadn't seen them in person. It definitely was a "Large Time" and I got to see the dude with Goose Creek ride the unicycle. August 1975 was a long time ago folks but I'll never forget it. Great Music!"

"Why write a review of a 35 year old album by a band most people have never heard of? Simple. If someone stumbles onto this listing by accident, I get to point them to one of the greatest CD's ever recorded. Full of fun, good picking, a little rock and roll edge and a real smartass lyrical sense.

If you have any interest in the merger of country and rock/pop that occured in the early '70's get this today."
