"Before the cd was released I'd already heard 'Slow Down' & 'Blood,Sweat & Tears' so I had some idea of what to expect. Once I got my copy of "Son of Pain" I realized there was a lot more. Governor is a very gifted songwriter and vocalist, you can hear it on every song. I got stuck on 'Never Wanna Leave' because its a perfect example of his range. I have to give a nod to TI for giving Governor a shot to really be heard and I think we will be hearing a lot from him. If it doesn't blow up, "Son of Pain" might be one of the most slept on albums of 2006."

"If you like Jaheim or Anthony Hamilton you should like Govenor also. He actually can sing and really have something to talk about instead of bumping and grinding and what kind of car he drives and being a pimp!!!!!
Thank you Govenor."
Not your average R&B record

"Governor is the newest R&B crooner to be signed to a rapper's label. But unlike Bobby Valentino who favors romance & seduction, Governor has more in common in with Donny Hathway & Lyfe Jennings. I was initially disappointed by the CD because it lacks those baby maker slow jams but after giving the CD a second listen I found the CD to be more social & political than sexual. Governor is at his best on Blood, Sweat & Tears, Slow Down & Forgive Me but the rest of the CD is by the numbers. T.I. is wasted on his featured track, but Governor does show some promise. Instinct tells me that Grand Hustle Records another male R&B crooner Rashad Morgan also known as Ray-Ray is going to be the label's lover man while Governor will be the exact opposite."

"Don't sleep on this album. The man mixes that classic soul voice with blues, sermon style spoken word, street cred and awesome writing. Each song tells a story. Love "Blood, Swet and Tears" "I'm On My Way" "Destiny" "Move Easy" ... hell I love the entire album. Definitely this is one where you purchase the entire CD as opposed to just downloading a few songs. Get it and you will not be disappointed."
