"Grada are one of the strongest new bands on the contemporary Celtic folk scene. Here, they set aside traditional music almost altogether, in favor of a programme of all-new material (including a cover of a Suzanne Vega song), mainly contemporary singer-songwriter folk songs, bookended by some lovely instrumental tunes. The musicianship is uniformly high, with vocalist Nicole Joyce and flautist Alan Doherty taking the lead most of the time. Strict trad fans won't find much here for them, but Celtic music fans who are looking for new sounds and new songs will be thrilled. Also includes a separate DVD disc of a live show in Dublin. "Grada really put forth a great album with this one. This album is a great mix of instrumental tunes, and great soulful ballads. I would reccomend this for anyone who is a fan of any type of music, I haven't played it for anyone yet who has not liked it! Highlights for me are "Fifty-Ninth Street," "Maria Litizia's", "River", and "Steerer John Begg"."
Best Grada yet, which means best Irish trad/jazz period

"Not much to say other than lots of new compositions, played with a more jazz-like feel. Not to say "jazzy" in some sort of trite description, but true jazz arrangements of traditionally-styled songs. If you know Grada, you'll know what I mean, and if you don't, it's worth chasing down a sample or two, as the musicianship surpasses just about anything in the Celtic world today, regardless of style. "Cooler at the Edge" should a be a million seller in any category of music you want to stick it in..jazz, alt, pop, world; doesn't matter; it's a great song. Just get it, you'll be happy!"
