A real find from Australia by way of Spain

"I saw this CD in Spain, was intrigued by it, but, to save luggage space, didn't buy it there. Koehne lists the Looney Tunes and TV among his influences, and you can hear them. This is fun music. The best piece, easily, is Inflight Entertainment, a concerto for amplified oboe, and here the standout movement is the second, Horse Opera. Sentimental, tuneful, and a little corny (consciously so), it captures something of the mood of the Old West and old Westerns at the same time."
An Unexpected Suprise

"When I found this CD I was intrigued due to a selection that I had heard performed via another idiom (Powerhouse). Some of Koehne's other works on this album provide great listening. There are moments where you'll swear that you're listening to a John Adams composition only to have it turn in a completely different direction. Additionally, you can really hear his inspiration from animation during "Unchained Melody". Definitely worth the purchase."
