CD ReviewsAmericana at it's best from an English act mo_in_la | Los Angeles, CA USA | 09/21/2000 (4 out of 5 stars) "When I think of soulful, folky, raw guitar music I think of driving down that long dusty highway...lost on an American backroad. Grand Drive brings those images to mind. Reminiscent of the Jayhawks and Wilco, Grand Drive is the best kind of Roots Rock. It blends meaningful lyrics with catchy tunes and heartfelt vocal interpretations. Too bad they are in the UK and I've never seen them play live in the States. Well, worth the import price." Absolutley Beautiful 04/07/2002 (5 out of 5 stars) "I usually don't write reviews... just too lazy I guess. But, I couldn't bare to see this record get less than 4 stars. I bought the first album "Road Music". It's a good album, but this one is a masterpiece (or near). The guitar parts and the organs are amazing. Not in a sense that these guys are musical virtuosos, but more in the arrangement of each song. It's very well done...It took me a long while to get into this cd, but something kept drawing me to play it again. It was well worth it.If you like Wilco or the Jayhawks (harmonies), you'll like this. If you like The Band, you'll like this album. If you "really" enjoy "listening" to music, you'll like this album! By the end of the cd, I always feel uplifted and full of life. Sounds cheesey... probably is... but it's true. Track 6 "Nobody's Song In Particular" is supremely well thought out and arranged. Love it." It doesn't get any better mo_in_la | 09/21/2000 (5 out of 5 stars) "A truly beautiful, melodious album full of soul-stirring tracks. The vocals are sweet and harmonious, the lyrics poetic, the music sublime...what more could you ask for"
