Nice overall, but the Solomon recording was defective.

"Having listened to the old Vanguard recordings of these selections on LP many times, I was excited to learn that someone (Brilliant Classics in this case) had finally released them on CD. The set is very good overall, but I was extremely disappointed to find the final chorus in Solomon unplayable near its conclusion due to an apparent flaw in the disc (I tried playing it on three different CD players and experienced the same problem each time.) Otherwise, this is not a bad collection for the price. Still, I wish the quality control had been better."
