"Rounder Records presents a journey back into the past with "Greatest Hits at Studio One", featuring Bob Marley and the Wailers. We're talking about Kingston, Jamaica in 1963 with Bob Marley, Junior Braithwaite, Beverley Kelso, Bunny Livingston, Peter McIntosh and Cherry Smith who made up The Teenagers (another name), The Wailing Rudeboys (yet another name), The Wailing Wailers (yet another & another) and then they settled on The Wailers. We have now traveled back into that time thanks to this album. Great Britain's Island Records gave us the debut album "Catch a Fire" (1973), then came "Burnin'" later that same year, all featuring originality and talent supreme. Ask someone to name a reggae group, and the first name that comes to mind is naturally Bob Marley and the Wailers. An album loaded with the fresh new sound of a group destined for great heights. Original artwork, photos and liner notes that is the envy of every Marley fan. With songs inclusive "TREAT ME GOOD", "DREAMLAND", "SINNER MAN" and "I'M GOING HOME", is an essential part of any collection. This is the real jewel, most of which have never appeared anywhere on compact disc...particular songs that clearly mark the history of Reggae. This one sounds and is too good to pass up.Total Time: 52:02 on 18 Tracks ~ Rounder 11661-7761-2 ~ (3/11/2003)"
