"Anthology is a copulation of the greatest hits from perhaps the greatest Sax player ever. Every song on this Album is a masterpiece, and well worth the money spent. There are so many timeless classics on This two CD set, like "Georgia On My Mind" and "Ain't No Sunshine." My only complaint would be the fact "Winelight" was not included, but I own the CD so not too much of a loss. If you love Jazz, especially if you love the sax, I highly recommend this album. I would also recommend with this album that you buy "Anthology (Elektra)" as well as "Winelight" you won't be disappointed."
A Timeless Masterpiece.....

"This CD is without a doubt a compulation of some of the greatest Grover tracks ever recorded! "Ain't no sunshine, and Georgia on my mind are tearjerkers. No one can play a saxophone and make it sing the way GW, Jr did and I don't think anyone ever will. I've had this CD since it came out and never do I or my husband leave home without it. Grover Washington,Jr: We miss you, we love you...Rest in peace."
Sensational! Sensational! Sensational!

"Saxophone playing is an art form in and of itself. Reflecting on all the wonderful saxophone players, both alive and dead, it is hard to think or imagine a saxophone player that has demonstrated more feeling, artistry, and unique interpretation of timeless classics as Grover has on this CD. Sure there have been others, Coltrane, Parker, Adderley, Webster, Hawkins, and even some would argue that Joshua Redman would fall into that category. But if you truly listen to the music, Grover is without doubt, one of the most soulful players to ever grace the music world. And believe me, I've listened to a lot of music. This CD will become a part of your desert island collection, those CDs that if push comes to shove, you can't live without. Enjoy!"
Brilliant!

"As a member of the 'hip-hop' generation, I had to be turned on to Grover's older work through radio airplay of popular tunes (eg. Mr. Magic) and my relatives who are jazz fans. This album seemed like a great place to pick up the man's music. And I must say, this is indeed just an outstanding collection of music. Grover's sax work was diverse with dramatic slow tunes (Until Its Time For You To Go), upbeat tracks (No Tears In The End), and amazing R&B covers (Inner City Blues, Ain't No Sunshine). My favorite track right now has to be "Black Frost". Just amazing how each listen reveals new musical nuances you don't notice earlier. I must also mention that Grover's bandmates, particularly the brass players are teriffic. The late, great Grover Washington, Jr. lives on with this set."
Great music
