"Yes Indeed Guy Lombardo !!!Yes, Guy Lombardo is ONE of my favorites - next to Paul Whiteman, Fred Waring's Pennsylvanians, et.al; but this band in these years expressed through this absoulte collection from the mid-to-late 1920's to exactly the mid-1930's is truly the CD for all collectors of vintage 78rpm records & CD's of the Jazz-Big Band-Art Deco type era of music from 1917 (the beginning of recorded jazz) to the end of The Big Band Era (exactly 1948). Hits on this CD say a whole lot about Guy Lombardo, his life, music, and how he set the mood for generations to come to enjoy this spectacular music. Just recently, he celebrated his 100th anniversary of his birth (last year - June, 2002); and many still want more reissues of his works - especially of his lae 1920's Columbia sides and those of the 1934-1936 era of his marvelous Decca sides. I'm not sure if many know; but Guy & Bing Crosby really made millions for the Decca company and the Jack Kapp family -- in which churned & turned out mammouth hits like Crosby's "I Love You," "Sweet Leilani," etc, etc. & Lombardo's many hits I can't recall at this econd because he had dozens and dozens of them...I'm too excited about writing them..........Anyhow--- FOLKS just order, rent, buy, or somehow aquire this wonderful CD and do yourself a favor "ENJOY YOURSELF IT'S LATER THAN YOU THINK," because it's later than your think -- I got a feeling sometime soon this CD WILL run-out of stock or be out-of-print.Thanks for your time!..."

"This album is of particular interest to me because of the song Idaho..I've been searching for recordings of this song that are similar to the style of Dick Haymes with Harry James & Benny Goodman..This album fits the bill."

"No other band in the world outsold Guy Lombardo & His Royal Canadians. From 1927 to 1954 he had 213 charted hit singles, including 24 No. 1s. 140 of those came in the period 1927-1939 and in this collection you get 25 of them, including the # 1 hits You're Driving Me Crazy [1930], You're Getting To Be A Habit With Me [1933], and Boo Hoo [1937].
That, unfortunately, barely puts a dent in his string of successes, which saw him sell over 100 million records - MORE THAN ANY OTHER BAND IN THE HISTORY OF RECORDED MUSIC.
What we need are some decent compilations of his 74 hit singles from 1940 to 1954."
