"I was very fortunate to see the 70th birthday concert for Terry Riley at UCLA just a week ago. After Terry and two other musicians played "A Rainbow In Curved Air," a very uplifting experience it was followed by ne of the most warming and touching experiences, when Terry and Gyan played their improvised duets.
I love all the pieces but some of my favourites are "Happychap," "Food for the Bearded," and the "Sonata Quasifantokastika."
The arrangement/order of the pieces flows very wonderfully too, what, with "Piedad" as the beginning and "Balama" drawing it to a close.
Gyan has such warm tones and complex, sensative compositions to share with us. This album is really something not to miss. It's very inspirational to me, a painter. I can recommend this album to anyone.
I sincerely hope to hear more solo pieces from Gyan.
Terry and Gyan's music is the kind that can bring peace to our world.
