"A year and a bit on from their first full length, the lads from Gyro are back for another aural assault, and damn do they know a thing or two about songwriting?!
Don't expect Sound Shattering Sound part II. The album is toned down a few notches overall, but still contains many remnants of the sound the fans have come to love. Everything from hard and fast to arse-shaking rock and everything in between, there's something for all, and it's bound to score them a larger army of fans.
An awesomely crafted, beautifully produced and wonderfully well written album, this most definitely is. Gyroscope aren't exactly breaking any boundaries, but their push to remain creative and sound fresh is a cause to be commended. Get it now!"
Did it get you involved?

"The boys from Gyroscope have combined efforts with the indomitable Mark Trombino to create one of the most exciting albums I've ever had the pleasure of owning. While their first major LP release, "Sound Shattering Sound" was pure, driving energy, the release of "Are You Involved?" shows that the band has taken time to allow themselves to experiment musically. Oh, the energy is still there...you can feel their excitement and passion for the music that they've created in all 12 of the tracks...you can still believe that they're there in the studio injuring themselves & each other while making their music...but with each listening, you find more and more unexpected qualities that please you about Gyroscope's latest creation. Their new tracks are allowed to find their own footing musically, there isn't a feeling that they've forced ROCK into each and every one of them, and there are ballads that still hit you hard in the face with each listening. Trombino has definitely led these boys on a huge mission of development, you can feel the progression from Gyro's earlier songs. The great thing about this album is that while the style is still immediately recognisable as Gyroscope, there are new subtleties that please both new fans and old, and earmark this band as unquestionably talented and on their way to international greatness. www.bombshellzine.com got it right when they said that you will NOT be disappointed with this release which is easily the best Australian release...to date. This album is simply great."

"Are You Involved? is the follow up to the debut album Sound Shattering Sound from Peth based Band Gyroscope. However it is impossible to compare these two albums as the tunes of the Cds are completely different. (like Apples and Oranges really). People buying Are You Involved? would most likely of already heard the single "Fast Girl" this awesome song is a benchmark which the entire album lives up to, to me the record is consistent with no dull songs. Other songs such as "Don't look now but I think I'm Sweating Blood" and "Raindrops" are great songs which have crept under the radar. To be honest I feel that Are You Involved? is in many ways better because all the songs are catchy and define the new era of Australian Rock. A must for any Gyro fan and any one who are fans of bands such as After the Fall.

"As a 15 year old I walked into 78 records and bought a little ep called Take Time by an unheard of band called Gyroscope. Three years on, and through releases such as Midnight Express and their first lp Sound Shattering Sound, they have reached a pinacle in their latest record Are You Involved?. The talent in the lyrics and their expression through music have let us listen into how well they have matured as musicians and evolved so much in just a few years. Immeidate attention arises in the listener though catchy songs such as "Fast Girl", "Missed the Point", "Beware Wolf" and "Don't Look Now But I think I'm Sweating Blood"- of which all will satisfy the original devotees. Are You Involved? also carries the added depth of songs like "Sexxxy" and "Don't Let The Light In" - of which will introduce a new era of fans to listen to all that is Gyroscope. The clear standouts for me without doubt are "22 of 3", "A Slow Dance" and the brilliant soundings of "Mistakes and Ladders." Superior vocals, brilliant riffs, killer bass and outstanding drumming provide the band with what they should see as being a very satisfying release. If this is an indication of things to come, the boys from Beechboro are forever going to be gaining more of my respect and admiration."
